If not, It’s inevitable that eventually resentment sets in.

It ruins some songs for me. I dread him picking up the Funny Zombie Cats Cat Lover Spooky Halloween Scary Shirt guitar which has treble that goes to 11 I guess. And like you, I have much respect for his playing, he’s always fit nicely between keys and lead, he’s been working on fills for the same songs for 50 years and has some beauties, and was an innovator for the sound of a generation. Maybe you’re right, he’s getting deaf, and as defacto band leader there’s too many ‘yes men’ for the sound guy to say, hey Bobby, lemme fix that for you.
