Chicago is the largest city with a single team. Historically much of the middle of the country didn’t have a team. For a long time the Bears were very popular amongst military men (given George Halas history w the military). At one point in the 70s there were more Bears fans in Texas than cowboy fans. It’s just a hidden fact the Bears likely have the largest NFL fanbase and it’s nationwide. There is no single source of data but if you look at road game attendance averages, tv ratings, resale ticket prices, jersey sales. hotel bookings. The bears are almost always at the top. And that’s for a team that really hasn’t been very good for the last 20 years. Relative to many NFL cities Chicago has a pretty good economy. You can fly to most NFL cities from chicago under 3 hours. After that it’s a numbers game

This is part of why I adored Luke was a Ramen Cat Japanese Shirt Did I expect it? Hell no! But I loved it. I loved that he made a mistake, like his teachers before him, and he ran off and sulked on a isolated world, like his teachers before him. One of my favorite scenes in all of Star Wars now is Yoda showing up to him and basically just saying “We blew it, you blew it because we blew it, she doesn’t have to repeat our mistakes, it’s probably better that she can learn her own path instead of following us down the wrong one.” I think people have gotten so attached to the nostalgia of Star Wars that they get upset any time it doesn’t perfectly deliver on their wish fulfillment. Personally just adored the idea that Luke and Yoda could both go “Yes we’re powerful, and yes, we’ve made powerful mistakes.”
