My wife calls them “my little people” and my best friend calls them “my Barbies”. I have the same issue but with my parents. It’s a shame that it feels like there’s a bit of a Tiki It’s Time And Cat Hawaiian Shirt around hobbying in general. I don’t know how to explain it but until I got back into 40k a couple years ago, I always had this subconscious feeling that hobbies were for retired people or single people with lots of free time “to kill”. I would always spend all my free time trying to improve my marketable skills or, when not motivated to do that (I.e all the time) doomscrolling on Reddit or YouTube.
