I completely agree, there is nothing redeeming about this product and the only motivation for the Cat Smile Colorfull Hawaiian Shirt to produce it, let alone for the individual stores to sell it is because the trend/challenge prompts sales and generates profits. But it causes so much harm. The capitalist need for profit should absolutely not trump the health risks of this useless product. Unrelated but somewhat related, it baffles me that the warning includes that this is not safe for someone with a nightshade allergy. That’s like putting a warning on peanut butter saying it’s not safe for someone with a peanut allergy. Like no shit Sherlock. As someone who has a nightshade allergy, it’s almost hilarious that this would be included on the warning for the chip – a fucking bell pepper will kill me, the heat of a Carolina reaper would be the least of my problems with this chip.

While I don’t disagree with you, could you imagine OP suggesting this to her? I wonder if she’d lose her shit if she thought her son is suggesting she’s “crazy”. I could easily see someone either going, “hmm, maybe you’re right” oooor “i know what I heard and how dare you think I’m hearing things that aren’t there. You’re grounded!” On a Cat Smile Colorfull Hawaiian Shirt, I dealt with similar situations with my ex-husband and I can’t even begin to describe how powerless I felt when he would accuse me and my son of “singing showtunes and whispering insults” at him through the bathroom vent fan or that I had men downstairs with me that I was feeding and accepting money from like a prostitute and not sharing “his cut” of the money. It manifested so quickly. It was terrifying. I tried audio and video recording these episodes to show him, to no avail. He ended up getting help by way of an involuntary commitment because his sister and I went to the courthouse to petition it, and afterwards he got medications he needed and they completely disappeared.
