I know no one wants to hear it, but people need to show up and vote Blue in the Death Meowtal Death Metal shirt in November. And all of our friends and family. En mass. And obviously we need a real candidate in 2024(if there will be elections that is). If the SCOTUS decides in favor of the plaintiffs, we need to have a path forward to pack the court, which means we need a real majority in DC after the midterms. Any later and it’s too late. We need serious organizing action at every level. Unions, DSA, left activists and public personalities of all stripes bringing people together, etc. This is the most important aspect, and it’s honestly the one I feel I have the least control over. Aside from that, arm yourselves heavily, have escape plans, attain a second passport if possible, go full remote work if possible(to work outside the US), etc. The sorts of things you do when a holocaust appears to be a viable course of events. I am sure others have possibly better ideas, but that’s all I can come up with. If the SCOTUS does not rule in favor of the plaintiffs of this case, then that buys us precious time to change the course of things in this country.

Because, in the end of the day, it suggest they wouldn’t learn this skills unless slavery happened. If there was no need for blacksmithing at a tribe, for example. Then they had no reason to learn that skill and it would not have effected them in any way. Just because those skills made them more marketable in the Americas, doesn’t mean that anything good came out of it. They where forced on our lands, and now where forced to learn skills to survive on our lands. There isn’t really any need to bring it up at all, unless you want to say “Sure, slavery was bad. But HEY, they learned some pretty nifty tricks while it happened. So not everything bad came out of it. Let’s pat ourselves on the back now” Not saying you are saying that of course, just the action of trying to make light of a horrible event.
